Converse x John Varvatos Footwear: Fall 2013 Collection

Converse x John Varvatos Fall 2013 Collection

This autumn, Converse continue their collaboration with the rock ‘n’ roll-obsessed designer John Varvatos, showcasing their iconic Chuck Taylor All Stars and Weapon silhouettes with a healthy injection of attitude and several exciting new design points. New materials, washes, applied hardware and the brand spanking new inclusion of durable steel heel plates make this ongoing partnership a real highlight amongst Converse’s upcoming collections. Knowing as we all do that a great pair of sneakers looks their best when they have been well worn and lived in, Varvatos’ latest take on the signature Weapon style boasts a faded, distressed look with a decorative side-zip to lend it a distinctive punk rock aesthetic. Available as a hi-top and finished with burnished leather uppers and outsoles, the ‘Weapon Zips’ come in black and charcoal colour ways. The perpetually popular Chuck Taylor All Star also makes an appearance in this collection, surprising no one. This iconic and best selling style has been given a series of premium leather and faux-snakeskin-infused makeovers, with variations featuring scraped, black double metal zippers and certain models also offering a steel toe cap and a studded, convertible zip-off hi-top option. Finally, Varvatos has created another Chuck Taylor All Star variation, this one having been drastically re-interpreted as a high quality leather boot. With a functional fold-over option for that extra casual feel, these dark, cracked leather boots display flashes of brilliant colour when this option is chosen, clearly setting them apart from other hi-tops whilst maintaining that trusted and recognizable Chuck Taylor flavour. The collection is available to buy now at selected Converse retailers worldwide.
