When it comes to the most famous churches in the country, one cannot just miss the Basilica of Bom Jesus. This church is well known to be more than 400 years old. Construction of the church began way back around 1594 and was consecrated in 1604. The flooring is done with marble. The church was designed by Giovanni Battista Foggini, the Florentine Sculptor of the 17th Century. The casket that holds the body of the saint is made out of silver.

4. Malayatoor Church:

While there are no of churches in India, this Christian pilgrimage is located in Kerala and is one of the oldest churches in the country. Built by St. Thomas, this church still stands firm on a hilltop. This Christian pilgrimage is visible to people from anywhere in the city.
