Michael Bastian x Uniqlo Polo Shirts: SS14 Collection

Michael Bastian x Uniqlo SS14 Collection

Michael Bastian is keeping his hands busy following the end of a five year deal with GANT. The designer has extended his collaboration with Japanese brand UNIQLO, now in its second season. The SS14 line is a continuation of the essential polos seen previously, designed for comfort and versatility. According to Bastian, who picked up the CFDA award for menswear in 2011, he approached the project with himself in mind: “…I really personalise it and always ask myself ‘would I wear that? Do I want this? Is this something I’ve been looking for, for a while?’” The range aims to be affordable, with polos available for under £20. Classic styles have been recreated with an all-American edge, using preppy patterns and colours to deliver a modern twist on a traditional piece. New York-based Bastian’s SS14 range includes a combination of colours, stripes, checked prints, polka dots and other unique patterns; produced in classic and slim-fit silhouettes. The designer is another big name to associated with the brand in recent months. In February, British singer-songwriter Tom Odell was unveiled as the face of the brand’s SS14 campaign. This was followed up by the announcement that Pharrell Williams had partnered with the store to create a line of t-shirts. Michael Bastian x UNIQLO polo shirts are priced at £19.90 and are available in store and on UNIQLO.com now. Bosses have also announced a second batch from the collaboration, which is due to drop on April 30th.
