Margaret Howell x Baracuta G3 Harrington Jacket

Baracuta For Margaret Howell G3 Harrington Jacket

Serial collaborators Margaret Howell and Baracuta have teamed up once again, doubling the workload of their previous successful partnership. The British labels have produced two new takes on the original G3 Harrington jacket, following on from the single reissue made in 2009. Exclusive to Margaret Howell, the spring 2014 G3 is available in either a grey cotton/linen mix, which uses an ‘end on end’ fabric intended to mimic the appearance of chambray, or a dense poplin version in dark navy. Both are completed in classic Harrington cut, using button flap pockets, button cuffs and side cinches. Baracuta shot to fame in the fifties and sixties when the company’s G9 blouson jacket was worn in films by the likes of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. More than half a century on, the firm still produces classic staples to the same standard. Margaret Howell is known to have been involved in a number of joint ventures over the years, working with the likes of Bolton-based footwear manufacturers Norman Walsh, and garden and landscape designer Dan Pearson. The pair’s latest project takes on the jacket, which has been in production for more than 80 years, reissued lined with Baracuta’s trademark Fraser tartan lining, The G3 Harrington jacket for Margaret Howell retails at £395 and is available to buy in store and online now at MargaretHowell.co.uk.
