Fendi x Beats by Dre Pro Headphones

Headphone Brand At Milan Fashion Week

Dr Dre’s headphone company looks set to kick off 2015 with a collaboration in partnership with Fendi.

The record producer and rapper set social media alight recently when products baring his logo were seen worn by models at the Fendi SS15 show during Milan Fashion Week.

A spokesperson for the fashion house later confirmed the joint project, announcing the headphones, which will be available in January, will retail for $1,300 (£765).

The design is based on Dre’s Pro over-ear model. Fendi sought to incorporate a luxury edge by wrapping the headband and sides in its famous Selleria leather.

Analysed runway shots from the show reveal the presence of several primary colours, as well as green, white, grey and black.

A special black crocodile version can also be seen, however it is not yet clear whether this will fall within the same retail price.

Fendi’s Roma emblem is carried on the hinge, while the Beats ‘b’ remains on the ear cup.

It won’t be the first time the music mogul has attempted to merge fashion and technology. At the end of 2013, he commissioned H&M collaborator Alexander Wang to create luxury range for the firm.

Earlier in the year it was confirmed that Apple brought the parent company of Beats By Dre, Beats Electronics, for a reported $3bn (£1.8bn). The deal is said to be the iPhone creator’s biggest single buyout to date.
