Porsche 918 Spyder Heads To Auction in Platinum Style With Only 966 Miles
The platinum Porsche 918 Spyder is said to be in pristine condition, already fetching more than $1 million as far as bids are concerned.
The Porsche 918 Spyder was initially produced in only a two-year run from 2013 through 2015. Collectors who feel like they have missed out currently have a second chance to get in on this very exclusive market.
Now that the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is up for auction, and with only 966 miles, people are captivated by the vehicle-inspired commotion.
The auction is set for later this month. The big event takes place on today, December 23, where the plug-in hybrid beast will be featured. Initial bidding began at $7,700 and exceeded $700,000 in only four days’ time.
The original base price for this ride was $845,000. That’s almost right on target!
People have been getting excited about the 918 Spyder for a while. When the auto first came out in 2015, the speedy convertible captured a lot of attention as a high-performing car that also came with a high price tag. In fact, the car was named car of the year in 2015 by Robb Report.

The car tops out at 214 mph. This couldn’t happen without a 4.6-liter (a naturally aspirated V8) specifically built for racing. The vehicle offers 887 hp and 944 feet lbs of torque in a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission construction.
Porsche reports that the vehicle goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds.
Five driving modes are found in the vehicle, including E-Drive. This mode only engages an electric motor system to go for about 18 miles with near no emissions.
That distance can be extended to 420 miles with a full fuel tank and two charged batteries. That’s impressive for a highbred.
The inside of the cabin maintains an exclusive allure with black leather accented by acid green motifs that complement the platinum paint job.
