Matthew Williamson x Ballantyne Collection
Matthew Williamson x Ballantyne Collection
British powerhouse Ballantyne will be working with Matthew Williamson to create a men’s capsule collection in time for Milan Fashion Week this coming February. For those who are not already aware, Matthew Williamson creates garments that quite literally put the ‘F’ in feminine, whilst Ballantyne are a luxury knitwear brand who are renowned for their expert knowledge and manipulation of cashmere.
Combining the signature knitwear quality from Ballantyne and the effortless sophistication of Williamson’s designs, this best of British collaboration will go down in history alongside the David Cameron/Nick Clegg dream team (January fools – this will, of course, be infinitely better and probably involve a lot less bitch-fights over Europe).
The range will be produced solely in Milan and Scotland, and is set to be released for general sale by July 2013.
In other news, Luisa Via Roma are currently selling off Ballantyne AW12, as well as stocking the new SS13 collection. The diamond pattern jumpers appear to be a recurring motif for the warmer months and may be an inclination of what can be expected from the Matthew Williamson collaboration.
Williamson is renowned for working with print and pattern designs in a more playful manner – so will the new collection see a stylish collision of each house, or a more subtle fusion of their signature styles?
