Opening Ceremony x Jiraiya x Massive

Capsule Collection To Celebrate LGBT Pride Month

LGBT Pride Month has been given a boost from Opening Ceremony. The serial collaborator has teamed up with gay manga-inspired apparel brand Massive and artist Jiraiya to create a capsule collection honouring the event.

T-shirts, shirts, rugby shorts and a beach towel make up the line. Each item features comic book style illustrations of Asian male pin-ups.

According to Opening Ceremony, the designs tell the story of gachimuchi love “that is, two large, muscular men who are tough and powerful but turn to mush when it comes to each other”.

In addition to the clothing, Japanese sex toy manufacturer Tenga has created a commemorative product, also on sale.

LA-based Massive has a long standing partnership with Jiraiya. The pair has previously worked on a number of pieces together including sweatshirts, greetings cards and comics.

Opening Ceremony made news this week by announcing plans to open a pop-up shop in the Shoreditch branch of the Ace Hotel chain.

Despite a large UK presence and a standalone outlet in Covent Garden, the collection is only confirmed to launch in stores in New York.

However, the full line is available online at openingceremony.us in the coming days.

Sizes are reported to range from XS – XXXL with prices between $55 (£32) and $92 (£54).
