Saturdays Surf NYC Clothing: SS14 Collection
Saturdays Surf NYC Spring/Summer 2014
Saturdays Surf NYC has released its eagerly awaited SS14 collection. The news comes after US GQ included the brand in a list of the ‘Best New Menswear Designers in America’ following the magazine’s collaboration with Gap. Shot by David Schulze and styled by Tyler Wray, the accompanying lookbook displays the new range in all its simplicity. With a design-led focus on fit, proportion and colour, each piece stands strong as a separate in addition to blending seamlessly when paired or layered. Working in a fresh, seasonal palette of bright primary hues, this eye-catching offering merges pattern and dye with logo prints. Modernised camo prints, Breton stripes and deconstructed checks remain the chosen details to create a youthful direction throughout. The trio behind the brand, Morgan Collett, Josh Rosen and Colin Tunstall, have become known for creating an urban surf vibe. Highlights from the collection include a yellow check vest and a spray effect blue and white shirt. The stand-out piece, however, is the black and white camouflage short-sleeve shirt. Its all-over detail and contemporary design make it ideal for both casual and refined looks. Aiming to attract the modern city dwelling man, Saturdays Surf NYC continues in its quest to deliver accessible pieces from one season to the next. The brand’s four main retail locations are situated outside of the UK. However, it is stocked by the likes of Liberty, Mr Porter and Selfridges.
