Joshua Kane Bespoke Launches

A former designer for the likes of Jaeger and Paul Smith has gone it alone with the launch of his own line. London tailor Joshua Kane has released the debut collection from his label of the same name. Having also previously designed at Burberry Prorsum, the 29-year-old described the move as “a natural progression”. “For me it’s always been a dream to run my own label. After experiencing some of the most well know and established fashion houses in my career,” Kane told FashionBeans. The new firm, located in the designer’s Islington studio, creates luxury bespoke and ready-to-wear lines. Suits and other fine tailoring at the heart of the collection sit alongside a small selection of accessories. In a unique approach, Kane insists on meeting clients in social settings to get a better sense of their personality. The technique allows him to mix the individual’s personality with his own design touches. “I juxtapose traditional British tailoring aesthetics with a refreshingly modern eye for detail, taking inspiration from antiques – vintage London photography, portraiture and tailoring paraphernalia.” The brand is already setting out plans for expansion, with a view to the showcase off-schedule at London Collection: Men in the near future. Among the pieces available is the Gostick fedora. Priced at £340, the hat is handmade in England and available in black and grey, with additional colour ways to follow. The first full ready-to-wear collection is available online now at JoshuaKaneBespoke.com or via appointment. Prices for bespoke pieces are available on request.
