Jaguar Unveils E-Type 60 Collection

British motoring icon Jaguar is turning 60 this year. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the luxury car manufacturer is releasing two extremely limited vehicles inspired by the Series I E-Types.

The E-Type 60 Collection will comprise a hardtop coupe (9600 HP) and a roadster (77RW). There will be six sets of two cars available, with both Jags paying homage to the E-Types that wowed the world at the 1961 Geneva Auto Show.

The coupe comes in a gunmetal grey known as Flat Out Grey inspired by Bob Berry’s journey to get the 9600 HP coupe to the Geneva Auto Show in 1961, where he drove “flat out” from Coventry to Geneva. The roadster has a colorway known as Drop Everything Green, which has a similar story to the coupe. It’s named after Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons who ordered test driver Norman Dewis to “drop everything” and drive the sports car overnight from the UK to Geneva for the Auto Show.

Along with fancy paint jobs, both Jags are fitted with a 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder XK motor and a specifically-developed close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox. Both vehicles have an upgraded cooling system, electronic ignition, and stainless steel exhaust.

Several Jag logos celebrating the E-Type 60 adorn the vehicle on the chassis plate, clock face, bonnet badge, and fuel cap. The interiors of both cars combine luxury with modern tech, with leather seats and Jaguar’s Classic Infotainment System with built-in satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity standout features.

There’s no price just yet, but there’s no doubting these cars will sell for a pretty penny.
