Colitis is a condition in which there is inflammation in the lining of the large intestine (colon). The symptoms are bloating, blood in the stool, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. 3. Boswellia:
With its anti-inflammatory properties, this herb has many benefits for colitis patients. Extracted from frankincense, the herb can be grinded and added with green tea leaves to boiled water. Add a teaspoon of honey and drink this on an empty stomach.

4. Licorice:
The Licorice plant is used in quite a few remedies. It gets rid of free radicals that induce inflammation in the colon. Boil the liquorice root in water for 2-4 minutes. Let it cool and then discard the root this will release the nutrients in the water. Drink this once or twice a day. If down frequently, this will bring down the time taken for recovery.
