Dior B27 – Sneakers for the Sportswear Spirit

An expression of sportswear spirit, adored by Dior’s artistic director, the B27 sneaker series delves deep into the vintage facade of the 80s tennis shoe and the early years of skateboarding. Revived for a modern generation, these exclusive Dior sneakers follow the Air Dior’s footsteps, once again defined by its coveted kicks.

With a history reminiscent of the iconic Nike Air Force 1, Dior demonstrates its ability to compete with the best of them with a shoe inspired by history and heritage. Sporting an urban, sporty, and refined aesthetic, the new B27s merges cultural leatherwork with Dior’s “creative audacity.”

Reflecting the Petites’ exceptional savoir-faire’s mains in the House’s Italian workshops throughout each step of construction, the edge dying to topstitch produces a sophisticated assembly sporting a three-dimensional effect thanks to the combined and layered inlays.

Off the heels of Dior’s collaboration with Nike in December of last year – their first time partnering with the legendary sneaker brand – Martin Lotti, vice president of design for the Jordan Brand, described the collab as “a new look into the style of basketball” that will “blend high-end streetwear with luxury fashion.”

Now in 2020, it’s clear sneakerheads and fashion aficionados wanted more. Unlike the Dior x Nike Air Force 1 collab, which simply added its trademark Italian calfskin to the mix, and a bit of extra embroidery to the swoosh, Dior removes the tick for something far more Schmick.

Having already taught us to expect the unexpected, the focus is now firmly on the fashion house. With fellow sneaker collector, and Dior’s creative director of menswear, Kim Jones, referencing his collection of over 40 pairs of sneakers, the B27 series features a whole suite of shoutouts and throwbacks.
