Boxfresh Clothing: 25th Anniversary Collection

Boxfresh Launches Month Long Birthday Celebration

Classic British streetwear brand Boxfresh is celebrating turning a quarter of a century old with a series of events. The firm, which takes it name from early hip hop slang, is putting on 25 fixtures to mark the occasion; stretching from parties and fashion shows to art exhibitions. Boxfresh is regarded as one the founding fathers of the streetwear scene, with its roots in London market stalls and tradition of working with young designers. The label, which was born in the boroughs of Camden and Greenwich, has also released a commemorative collection. Dubbed 25, the capsule line is made up of twelve pieces of clothing and four footwear designs. The offering features the ‘quarter’ graphic on t-shirts, joggers and as a label inside each product. In addition, the brand is running its #OneShot competition to find a budding photographer to take snaps of its events throughout the extended celebrations. Entrants are being asked to submit five photos which capture the spirit of Boxfresh’s passion for style and music, explaining how and why the shot was taken and the camera used. Hopefuls who apply can judge other entries via Facebook and twitter. The person with the most votes will receive a £500 bursary from the brand. Top photographer Ewen Spencer has been appointed to choose the winner of the competition, which closed on Monday February 17th. Jade Garrow, Boxfresh’s Head of Global Marketing, said: “We are hoping to find a dynamic, hard working, passionate photographer who is creative and adaptable.” Boxfresh will be throwing a birthday bash in Sheffield on March 28th, hosted by English DJ, Toddla T and rapper MC D.R.S.
