Beloved ‘Mandalorian’ Starcraft Rebuilt in Russia

How big a fan of the hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian are you?

According to The Moscow Times, Ayaall Fyodorov has answered this question by building a life-sized replica of Din Djarin’s iconic starcraft “the Razor Crest” in his hometown of Yakutsk, a Russian city in eastern Siberia, with his friends during the coronavirus lockdown. The life-sized Razor Crest has landed in a local park (or port), awaiting its return to the stars.

CBS News has posted video footage of the ship’s arrival on their Twitter feed below:

Fyodorov (known by his handle just.ayaal on Instagram) is also an avid cosplayer and has been posting images of the Razor Crest regularly, some of which include himself in full Mando armor, accompanied by the child, Grogu (though to us he’ll always be “Baby Yoda”). The replica even includes a custom-made “baby seat” for the Child to make sure he’s safe during rough landings (we all know how well the Razer Crest handles in the snow…).

“This cosplay was the hardest thing to create, but we did it,” Fyodorov told the TASS news agency. The ship is 14 meters long and weighs over two-thousand pounds. “As fans, we decided to create exactly Razor Crest, because no one in the world had ever built before. This is what attracts us – to do the impossible.”

This is no small feat in the world of cosplaying. After over a year of construction, the starcraft was completed this March, becoming the first of its kind. And it’s beyond impressive.
