Viscata is a brand from Barcelona that makes espadrilles. I tried a few of their products to help you decide if they’re worth buying.

They offer a large selection of shoes for both men and women. Crafting authentic Spanish espadrilles is truly an art form. At Viscata, we use traditional artisan techniques with an attention to detail that is so rare these days. All of our shoes are handmade in a boutique workshop in Spain where craftsmen still hand wrap the all-natural jute and sew each shoe with care. from Viscata’s about page Their shoes are handmade from natural materials, and they have a large focus on sustainability (they even have a shoe recycling program) which you can read about on their site. I tried a few pairs of shoes from Viscata: the Sitges, Pol, and Capsasal. Here’s an overview of each of them. The Sitges is a classic, casual slip-on shoe. Like all espadrilles, they have a rope sole. The canvas is breathable, and they’re easy to slip on and off. These shoes can be worn for any casual occasion. They’re great for walks and going to the beach. The Sitges has become my quintessential spring and summer shoe. As a bonus, pretty much every color they offer is versatile. Whereas the Sitges is a classic slip-on shoe, the Pol is like its lace-up brother. Something that surprised me about Pols was just how comfortable they are. The insole is very soft and smooth. Also, just like the Sitges, the Pol is a very versatile shoe. I do wish they came in beige, though. The Capsasal is a suede shoe which differentiates it from the Sitges and Pol. Just like the other two, it’s a comfortable and versatile shoe, but it also has a unique advantage which is that it can be dressed up more than the others. The Products I Tried
