Tom Hardy Gets Crazy in 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' First Trailer
I can’t say I was a huge fan of Venom, and after watching the first trailer for its sequel, I’m still non-plussed. Venom: Let There Be Carnage sees Tom Hardy return as Eddie Brock/Venom, a mild-mannered journalist who also happens to play host to an alien symbiote. This time around he’s set to battle arch-villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson with a laughable red wig. Check out the trailer below.
As you can see, Venom 2 looks likely to dish up more of the same superhero madness. Hardy continues his long-running fascination with using strange voices while I must admit, the special effects do look mint. As far as the plot goes, there’s yet to be any information revealed, bar the obvious. While there was hope of a Spider-man crossover, this looks unlikely, with the film seemingly focusing on Venom having to takedown Carnage.

As well as introducing Harrelson’s Carnage, the film also features Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine) as Brock’s former love interest Anne Weying, Reid Scott (Veep) as her new boyfriend Dan Lewis, Naomie Harris (28 Days Later) as Carnage’s flame Frances Barrison/Shriek, and Stephen Graham (Snatch, This is England) as Detective Mulligan.
Directed by Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) from a script by Kelly Marcel (50 Shades of Grey), Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set for release September 24, 2021.
