Q. What do you wear with a striped suit?

A. Depending on the type of suit (are you wearing a jacket with a skirt? a vest top with pants? a blazer and shorts?), you will want to first determine what style you are going for. Are you creating a street-style look a la Gigi Hadid? (See outfit #6.) Are you needing a workwear ensemble? Are you just trying to look chic in the warmer weather?

Once you know how dressy or casual you want to be, you will be able to determine what kind of top, shoes, and accessories you want. You can pair anything from a crop top or a button-down blouse with your suit. Footwear is also an area where you can get creative. You can try chunky white sneakers or some super-stiletto heels. You can wear flats or mid-heel loafers.

Q. How can I make my suit look feminine?

• A. Go for a closer fit. The less structured your suit is, the more hidden your figure.
• Pair with accessories. They don’t have to be overly feminine like a flower headband, but some jewelry and a beautiful handbag are great ways to feminize the ensemble.
• Ankle-length pants can be slimming and a great way to show off a high heel.
• Choose a lighter-colored suit, like beige, pink, or light gray.
• Add a swipe of lipstick. A bold colored lipstick draws the eye and plays up your femininity.
• Opt for a blouse that shows skin below the clavicle or has a cutout in that region. Right around the sternum is a good rule of thumb. Showing cleavage isn’t deemed professional so keep this in mind, particularly if you are creating a work outfit.
• Tie a cute scarf around the neck for an extra womanly touch.
