Brands Collaborate After 3 Year Hiatus

After a three year hiatus, footwear brand Sperry Top-Sider and LA label Band of Outsiders have regrouped for another collaborative collection. The six-piece line for spring 2015 combines the best of both worlds – Sperry Top-Sider’s iconic boat shoe silhouette with quirky designs from Band of Outsiders’ founder Scott Sternberg. Bold screen-printed illustrations come from Sternberg’s “strong personal sense of nostalgia for American classics”, mixing nautical stripes with tromp l’oeil lace and stitching effects. The Los Angeles-based label has also taken over the inside of the shoe with a branded inner sole, while Sperry Top-Sider brings things back with raised branding on the white rubber outsole. With boat shoes frequently falling in and out of vogue, this collaboration is a refreshing update to an often opinion-dividing menswear classic. The full Sperry Top-Sider x Band of Outsiders collection drops exclusively at END Clothing from early February, with prices ranging from £100 to £110.
