Cam’ron x Mark McNairy Cape Collection

Cam’ron Teams Up With Mark McNairy

American rapper Cam’ron has teamed up with designer Mark McNairy to produce a line of custom capes. The full range, made up of four unique styles, was revealed earlier in the month, marking the opening of what Cam’ron describes as “killa cape season”.

The hip hop star opted to model the offering himself, alongside long term girlfriend Ju Ju, at McNairy’s show during New York Fashion Week.

Capes to come out of the partnership are all similar in style, but boast different colors and fabrics. The line includes a black wool model with quilted lining, finished with the word ‘Dispset’, the name of the East Coast rap collective which Cam’ron heads, on the back.

There is also a blurred graphic, camouflage style and a third cape made of red, white, and black flannel wool. The final piece delivers on extravagant luxury with a blend of Harris Tweed and faux fur.

Dipset leader Cam’ron is no stranger to making bold fashion statements. The most famous of which being when the 38-year-old started exclusively wearing all pink clothing during a time when this was seen to be effeminate in the hip hop industry.

However, the rapper has not expressed any concern at how the capes will be received, simply stating: “Hate now, cape later”.

McNairy has previously teamed up with the likes of Heineken and C-Store Footwear.

The Mark McNairy x Cam’ron capes are expected to become available to the UK via the Dipset online store in the coming months.
