Shopping Guide: The Las Vegas Strip
James Perse
Light and airy is the MO at LA-based James Perse, and its Vegas store exemplifies the ethos. Everything from the clothing down to the decor is happily understated – that’s everything bar the staff who, like most places in Vegas, are beaming with enthusiasm. For summer suiting there’s the cream-coloured Cotton Linen Blazer ($525), while the End-on-End Linen Shirt ($175) will keep you looking and feeling cool under Nevada’s scorching sun. If it gets a bit chillier there’s always the Cotton Metal Twill Utility Jacket ($495) – ideal for layering and light enough to carry home unscathed. 3500 S Las Vegas S, (702) 693-5482; jamesperse.com
Narcissistik
Blaring music and bright cityscape images of NYC greet you at Narcissistik, an urban boutique filled with ripped denim, graphic tees, casual hats and hi-top trainers. Hudson, Sixth June, and Tanoli are staple names among its eclectic pieces, which include the Sixth June Vest Noir ($120) and this A Copy of Everything Sweater ($70) for those wanting to, quite literally, make a statement. On the footwear front, it’s these Plus Footwear Metallic Trainers by Haze Lagoon ($289) that shine. 3663 Las Vegas Blvd South, (702) 854-9997; shopnarcissistik.com
Brooks Brothers
It might be a global behemoth, but as the oldest men’s clothing retailer in the US, Brooks Brothers deserves some serious acclaim. And its mahogany-floored store at The Forum, filled with elegant wooden cabinets, does it proper justice. From the Fitzgerald Fit Saxxon Summer Plaid Sport Coat ($998) to the Milano Fit Embroidered Nautical Knot Pants ($128) via sweaters, polos and tuxedos, you can’t really put a foot wrong. And Vegas might be the only place where you can get away with wearing this rather fancy, look-at-me please Plaid With Ditsy Floral Print Reversible Bow Tie ($69.50). If you decide on a Vegas wedding, you can at least look like you planned it. Forum Shops, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd South, (702) 369-0705; brooksbrothers.com
