Shopping Guide: The Las Vegas Strip

If there’s one place in the world that knows how to go all out, it’s Vegas’ Strip. And the City Of Sin’s fashion scene is no less extravagant. It’s a place where quirky cowboy joints and all-American apparel shops rub shoulders against exclusive boutiques and luxury global brands, and where style-savvy tourists come to spend their winnings via mini gondolas and opulent, spiralled staircases. But with so many malls lining the Strip, it’s hard to know where to start. To help tackle the dilemma, we’ve compiled a round-up of the best places to go – and where to stay, eat and drink in the process.

Where To Shop

Tommy Bahama

For floral print shirts and brightly-coloured shorts, look no further than Seattle-based Tommy Bahama. Its store at The Forum takes you straight to the beach with exotic aromas and bright, bold pieces – from the peachy Boardwalk Breezer Shirt ($110) to the out-there Ikebana Floral Camp Shirt ($118), and everything in between. Trawl through and you’ll find some subtler pieces, though; the reverse-printed Man’s Best Frond Crew Neck Sweater ($138) walks the line between casual and colourful, and you don’t have to be on a tropical beach to wear it – although after browsing the store, you’ll likely want to be. Boot Star

You’ll know you’re in the heart of the Wild West when you walk into Boot Star, a rustic, lodge-style boutique where American flags and framed memorabilia sit beside old wooden chests and rugged benches. You’ll find leather ankle boots – like the Old Gringo Hawk Zip Furia ($429), handmade in Mexico – alongside cross-body bags such as the Coronado Leather Americana Saddle ($599) and shirts like this 1950s Western Denim Shirt ($215) by Levi’s Vintage Clothing. There are plenty of leather jackets too, although the spotlight is on the cowboy boots that line its shelves and come in every colour, style and pattern conceivable.
