Ronnie Fieg For Grenson Brogue Boots
Ronnie Fieg for Grenson
Grenson, the historic shoe designers that have been cobbling since 1866, have collaborated with New York based sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg to create three exclusive boots for their upcoming collection. Fieg has taken the cuts of both the ‘Spike Duck’ and ‘Fred V’ brogues Grenson have made famous and revamped them with waxed slate grey leather, sitting prettily upon a hard wearing Vibram sole. The ridged toe-cap of the Spike Duck helps to distinguish itself from the Fred’s detailed brogue design. However, all three boots are finished with a red leather heel spike to add an accent of colour to an otherwise dark palette. The last brogue of the collection was a personal creation of Fieg’s to satisfy his “needing and wanting [of] an all-black brogue boot”. The highlight of this limited range, Fieg’s careful touch is evident here, preferring to use a Commando sole to compliment the oily black upper and let the rich Grenson brogue detailing shine through. Sadly, the collection is only available in Manhattan’s Kith Store, but thanks to the miracle of e-commerce, you might still be able to get your hands on a coveted pair.
