'Master of None' Season 3 Trailer Focuses on Lena Waithe
Over the past week, it had been confirmed Master of None was finally getting a third season. Many were curious as to how the show would work out considering the star and creator, Aziz Ansari, has been out of the spotlight after he was accused of sexual misconduct in 2018. Well, now we have the answer thanks to the first trailer for the new season.
Ansari is no longer the focus of the show, with Lena Waithe’s Denise positioned as the lead character. Ansari is still heavily involved as a writer and director of the show, but Emmy winner Waithe, who is also credited as a co-writer, is taking center stage.
The season revolves around Denise and her relationship with partner Alicia (Naomi Ackie). As you can see from the trailer above, the two experience both the highs and lows of being in love, with Ansari even popping up in a cameo. The official synopsis reads:
This new season is a modern love story that intimately illustrates the ups and downs of marriage, struggles with fertility, and personal growth both together and apart. Fleeting romantic highs meet crushing personal losses while existential questions of love and living are raised. Season three delivers an evolution of the series that remains tethered to previous seasons while breaking new storytelling ground of its own.
