The Original 'Seinfeld' Soundtrack is Finally On Streaming Platforms

23 years after Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer bid farewell to our screens, the original Seinfeld soundtrack has finally been released. The 33 track collection from composer Jonathan Wolff is available on all major streaming platforms and marks the first time the entire soundtrack has been officially released.

Talking with Variety, Wolff said the soundtrack was “30 years in the making” and detailed his process for choosing the songs that made the compilation; “Was it the primary audio of a famous Seinfeld scene? Did it contribute in a significant way to the comedy of the scene? And upon hearing it, will it serve as an instantly identifiable signature and bring warm fuzzies to a Seinfeld fan who will remember that scene?”

Along with the culturally impacting Seinfeld Theme, the album includes all the best musical moments from the series, including Kramer’s Pimpwalk, Jerry vs. Newman Chase, Jerry The Mailman, Kramer’s Boombox, and Cable Guy vs. Kramer Chase. As an added bonus, the soundtrack ends with George’s Answering Machine (Greatest American Hero).

Wolff revealed NBC wasn’t thrilled with the theme song, describing it as “weird, distracting and annoying,” but co-creator and producer Larry David refused to change it. “Larry was deeply offended, and didn’t change anything,” the composer says.

You can listen to the soundtrack below and watch the entire nine seasons of Seinfeld on Netflix this coming fall.
