The Magic Gold Process 
The finishing process is perhaps the most easy to understand. It requires the only known successful solution: Machining by diamond.
On the other hand, the creation process is not quite as straightforward in fact, it is far more complex than imagined. It starts as a fusion of nature’s finest 24 carat gold and the latest high-tech materials. Boron carbide power is pre-formulated in moulds very similar in shape to the finish part. In this case, it is the bezel on the Hublot Big Bang Unico.
The pre-formed powder proceeds to harden at tremendous temperatures creating a rigid, porous structure. Once completed, 24K gold alloyed with 3 percent molten liquid gold is injected under extreme pressure with inert gas at a very high temperature. The process allows the metal to fill in the ceramic pores, creating a fusion of two as the result.
To earn its rightful name, there remains one final step to be completed. During polishing, the raw alloy transforms from a nearly black color to a stunningly unique gold tint. Magic gold is now introduced into the world.
