While as children and young adults the number of hairs on our head is the highest, as we grow older, that number may decline for many of us. Regardless, age isn’t the only factor that may contribute to decreased hair density, as we shall see.

There have been studies that show people with naturally blonde hair have an average of 140,000 individual hairs on their heads. On the other hand, brown-haired individuals have about 110,000 hairs, black-haired individuals have 100,000 hairs, and redheads are on the lowest end of the spectrum, with about 90,000 individual hairs.
