Head Porter Bags: Jackson Collection

Head Porter Jackson Collection

With pieces designed by Horoshi Fujiwara and manufactured by acclaimed bag and accessory maker Yoshida Kaban, Tokyo-based brand Head Porter are, many luggage obsessives will surely agree, one of the finest malletiers producing today. I am certainly bordering on being a luggage obsessive myself. Not quite on the scale of legendary luggage lover Wes Anderson perhaps (see: the custom-made Marc Jacobs/Louis Vuitton suitcases for The Darjeeling Limited) but whilst many men might be content to have a single bag and leave it at that, I definitely subscribe to the more traditionally feminine viewpoint of building a solid, versatile collection and I urge more men to do the same. Head Porter clearly also see the importance of considering baggage as part of the complete style package and their latest collection, dubbed ‘Jackson’, has recently been unveiled for spring/summer 2013. Named after San Francisco’s Jackson Square in the heart of the design district, the new range is composed of seven new bags, each devised with a different intended purpose in mind. The array comprises a day bag, a shoulder bag, a tote bag, a waist bag, a two-way pouch, a zip wallet and a wallet pouch. Made from high grade materials such as hollow fiber nylon and velour and presented in rich shades of green, beige, yellow and blue, the Head Porter ‘Jackson’ collection is a sturdy and stylish series – offering an option for every occasion and ensuring practical and long-lasting quality as well as being excellent accompaniments to a wide variety of outfits. The Jackson collection is available for purchase from the Head Porter website now. Prices range from ¥3,675 to ¥31,500 (approximately £25-£218).
