Ami has lent its signature print of the season to a new collaboration with Robinson Les Bains. The French labels have come together to produce a new line of swimwear. Four takes on the Robinson Les Bains St Martin shorts are carried in the summer 2014 range. Two feature Ami’s exclusive botanical print, also used in the brand’s mainline. A further two plain versions are being rolled out in black and army green colour ways. Ami was launched by former Marc Jacobs employee Alexandre Mattiussi in 2011. The young label has previously worked with the likes of FrenchTrotters and created a capsule collection for Mr Porter. Robinson Les Bains specialises in quick-drying swimwear in retro-inspired styles and tailored cuts. This project is the first listed collaboration for the luxury firm, which also manufactures trunks, t-shirts and bags. The printed shorts feature in a mini film created by the two brands to showcase the result of the partnership. The Ami x Robinson Les Bains shorts are available online now. MR PORTER currently sells the darker botanical and green shorts at £140 per pair. The other two can be found online at Ami’s webstore, with prices starting from €145 (£118).
