Label Looks To Vintage Cartoons For Second Collaboration
London-based brand Lazy Oaf has collaborated with cartoon collective Looney Tunes for a second time, releasing a collection named after one its character’s famous catchphrases.
Following on from the team up in 2013, Lazy Oaf has adopted the famous “That’s All Folks” line for 2014, looking to classic Looney Tunes cartoons from the 1930s and 1940s.
The collection comprises nine pieces, including three menswear styles and two unisex accessories, revolving around a palette of black, white and grey, reflecting television of the era.
Striped patterns and denim accents feature alongside illustrations of Sylvester the Cat, Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig, the latter taking centre stage throughout the line.
Lazy Oaf head designer Gemma Shiel said she was “drawn to the calamity of Porky Pig, a character she feels is overlooked in modern cartoons” who appears on the men’s denim shirt, t-shirt and reversible bucket hat.
The same mix of characters was carried across the label’s last collection in partnership with the Warner Bros cartoon, which consisted of repetitive prints layered across sportswear-inspired styles.
The Lazy Oaf x Looney Tunes 2014 collection is available now online, or in Lazy Oaf’s London store on Ganton Street. Pieces are priced at £10 for the tote bag, £25 for the bucket hat, £38 for the t-shirt, £70 for the denim shirt and £75 for the sweatshirt.
