E. Tautz Opens Debut Flagship Store

British Menswear Brand Sits Opposite Selfridges

E. Tautz, the luxury British menswear brand run by Savile Row tailor Patrick Grant, has this week opened its first store. Located on London’s Duke Street, the 2,000sq ft flagship space is split over two floors and brings together the full mainline collection with made-to-measure tailoring and shirtmaking and made-to-order lambswool and cashmere knitwear. The interior, created by architects Sanderson Studios, features a fifties- and sixties-inspired design with concrete and whitewash alongside timbered sections and wooden furniture. Opening up on the street sees the business sit just a few hundred yards from the original store of London tailor Edward Tautz, from whom the brand gets it name, which opened in 1867. A move directly opposite Selfridges is one already taken by Private White V.C. this year as well as the likes of Jigsaw’s Duke Street Emporium and Rake. Creative director and owner Patrick Grant said: “The timing seems right. Tautz has grown up and we wanted a home in London to show the full breadth of our collection. It feels good to be bringing the brand back to North Mayfair where Edward Tautz chose to start his business almost 150 years ago.” The debut E. Tautz flagship is open now. Current ready-to-wear prices shown online start from around £95 for accessories, £149 for clothing and £795 for suits.
