Acapulco Gold: AW13 Lookbook

Simple streetwear has been turned on its head with the Acapulco Gold AW13 collection. The New York City-based brand has taken an innovative approach by creating its own fabric in addition sourcing others from around the world.

The collection features hoodies, button-down shirts and camouflage trousers brought together by custom made and high quality materials.

A blog post revealed the brand’s accompanying utilitarian lookbook last month. Navy blue, grey and burgundy colour ways dominate, along with camouflage prints that provide the versatility every streetwear brand needs.

Acapulco Gold’s own salt and pepper fleece receives the most emphasis in the editorial. The brand created the piece by combining custom dyes based on those typically used for heather grey before applying it further to navy and dark burgundy.

The brand also sought out distinctive materials from across the globe, such as Japanese fabrics for its button-downs and combat BDUs for the camouflage patterned garments.
