Pantone x Barbour Clothing

Pantone x Barbour SS14 Collaboration

Two unlikely players in menswear have come together for a new collection. Heritage label Barbour is showing no signs of slowing down after opening its International store in Canary Wharf, revealing a project with color chart firm Pantone.

The new partners have created a vibrant spring/summer 14 collection, entitled ‘Country Colours’, which celebrates the rich shades of the English countryside.

Pantone, best known as a forecaster for the color of the year, has reinvented classic Barbour staples in striking hues.

Red, green, charcoal, and neutral versions of waxed jackets and polo shirts make an appearance, with each piece featuring a distinct badge-style stud, carrying the two brand logos.

Ian Bergin, Head of Menswear at Barbour, spoke of the unique color matching, which allowed them to offer a “series of contemporary products that not only reflect Barbour’s country heritage, but are fun to wear and practical for the summer months”.

The range also celebrates 50 years of Pantone. Ron Potesky, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the brand, said the combination of their global and contemporary color language with Barbour’s strong values and heritage was the “perfect way to celebrate”.

The Pantone x Barbour collection is currently available in Barbour stores and selected stockists worldwide. Prices start at £50 for polo shirts, ranging up to £130 for jackets.
