Who knew overalls could actually be edgy? While many think of the look as being something farmers or construction workers wear, they don’t have a super high fashion reputation, especially not for men. But, in the last few years, various popular brands have come up with their own versions that look like you could wear them straight onto a runway.

Many brands that make overalls, such as North Face, have in the past collaborated with higher fashion brands to create overalls that can be worn to the office or a club, not just hiking in the mountains. Even fast fashion brands like Zara jumped on the bandwagon, showing camouflage overalls in the past, and currently vintage denim. They even extended the look to black jumpsuits with buttons, and front pockets, and another pair with a zipper.

To wear an edgy look with overalls, you’ll want to think unique, not necessarily dark. Try a pair of vintage, light washed overalls with an attention grabbing bright t-shirt. Roll them up at the ankles to show off a fashionable pair of sneakers. For an edgy, but less “look at me” outfit, try basic overalls with a tie dye t-shirt, and pair of Converse sneakers. If you go with a lighter wash, offset this with a tight black t-shirt underneath, and some edgy sneakers with a unique pattern.
