If you watch television, spend any time on social media, or even walk by enough billboards, you already know about Manscaped. They’re a huge company at this point that’s looking to take over the downstairs grooming market for men. But do their products really live up to the hype?

I’ve tried and tested eight of Manscaped’s most popular products for this review. In the sections to come, I’ll give you my honest opinion of how they stack up to the competition — and whether they’re really worth spending your money on.

Their flagship product is a gentle trimmer for your crotch, and each of their other items backs up their cause of keeping guys fresh and clean below the belt. They partner with the Testicular Cancer Society to help raise awareness for men’s health issues.

The Lawnmower 4.0

The Lawnmower was Manscaped’s very first offering, and it’s now in its 4th edition. It’s a trimmer for your family jewels that’s equipped with all the modern bells and whistles: A USB-C charging port, wireless charging dock, LED spotlight, quiet operation, and a waterproof design.

In my opinion, some of that is just gimmicky. Unless you’re shaving in the dark, why do you really need an LED light on your trimmer? And if you are shaving in the dark — why?

Even so, the Lawnmower 4.0 does give a pretty smooth and snag-free trim. It’s not quite as nice to hold or use as Meridian’s trimmer, but it does a lot better job than a standard drug store hair trimmer.

So overall: Pretty cool, but I’m not convinced that it’s worth the $90 price tag.

The Weed Whacker

An addition to their range of trimmers, the Weed Whacker is based on a long-running model for ear and nose hair trimmers.
