Grime MC Creates Streetwear Collection with Known

Dizzee Rascal grime protegé D Double E is trying his hand at fashion, teaming up with streetwear label Known. Currently signed to the chart star’s Dirtee Skank label, the MC – whose real name is Darren Dixon – has produced a two-piece collection, fusing the British label’s casual style with his own artistic influences. The Forest Gate born musician’s t-shirt designs draw on his Jamaican heritage, incorporating the yellow, green and black flag colours. As a member of grime collective Newham Generals, D Double E is one of the biggest names on the hip-hop scene. In recent years MTV voted him one the top ten UK MCs. A lookbook, shot in record stores and barbershops in and around the streets of London’s Brixton, showcases the collaboration. The Known High Summer range also features in the editorial, which the grime artist is said to have had a hand in creating. Known has previously partnered with Plan B’s charity brand EOTO, as well as sneaker community site Air Max Always, on a collection that sold out within its pre-order period. The D Double E collaboration and Known’s spring/summer mainline will be released at the same time on June 1st. Prices will range from £30 to £50 for both at the time of launch on KnownWorldwide.com.
