Barbour x Propora Tech Accessories
Iconic British brand Barbour has debuted its new tech accessories line at its flagship store in Covent Garden, London. The release sees the label team up with technology firm Proporta, applying it’s signature outerwear fabrics onto cases and covers for smartphones and tablets. Combining Proporta’s wealth of experience in fine gadget protection with the globally recognised style of Barbour, this quintessentially British line-up of accessories is designed for iPhones, iPads and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Barbour’s managing director, Steve Buck, said of the release: “We are introducing mobile technology cases into the range as a direct response to our customers who have been Proporta who are renowned for their expertise and creativity in this area. By incorporating our iconic quilting and tartan materials into the cases, it makes them instantly recognisable as Barbour products and they are a natural accompaniment to our clothing and accessories as we continue to evolve as a global lifestyle brand.” Barbour’s signature quilting, tweeds and leathers are all showcased in the range, as well as its renowned waxed-cotton. The collection is both stylish and sophisticated and the price point will probably surprise many – the basic quilt-effect iPhone hard-shell comes in at a reasonable £24.95 whilst the top-end leather iPad case undercuts under many luxury alternatives at £59.95. Lynnette Prigmore, head of product at Proporta, said: “Proporta is delighted to have gained the opportunity to work with Barbour and is very excited about the new line of cases for Smartphone, Reader and Tablet devices. This new collection brought to you by Proporta mixes Barbour’s heritage with a modern twist for mobile tech accessories.”
