Rap Star Turns Artist For Hosiery Collaboration

The results of an earlier announced collaboration between Happy Socks and rapper Snoop Dogg have been released. The Art of Inspiration range comprises three sock styles: one featuring Jamaican and cannabis motifs, another with a paisley print and a third with a spray can design. Happy Socks creative director Viktor Tell said: “Snoop Dogg is a living legend and it was fantastic to see and take part in his new path as an artist.” “He has inspired many with his music and it will be incredibly interesting to see how his art will impact the world and what new boundaries he will push.” Snoop said he first began painting on tour as a form of meditation. The campaign was created as a platform for the artist to illustrate his passion for different creative mediums. A video revealing the collaboration shows Snoop explaining: “For many years, I’ve always wanted to paint, and I’ve been exploring the craft behind the scenes. I find that painting allows me to explore certain emotions I’ve never been able to express through my music or acting.” “The collaboration with Happy Socks is so natural, because they saw what I was doing and provided me with another platform to further display my artistic abilities.” It follows on from similar projects by the Swedish hosiery brand with the likes of adidas Originals, Opening Ceremony and Giles Deacon. The Art of Inspiration collection is available direct from Happy Socks and UK stockists including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and John Lewis, priced at £8 a pair. The range is also available in a three-piece box set for £24.
