The Hottest Trainer Launches This Week

Reebok Classic ‘Butter Soft’ Club C

Food-inspired trainers are often the result of the design team skipping lunch, and the results are rarely all that tasty. Luckily, Reebok’s Butter Soft pack takes its name from the supple cream-coloured uppers applied to three throwback silhouettes. Alongside versions of the Classic Leather and Workout, the low-cut Club C shape features a durable rubber outsole and padded sockliner for added cushion. Available from 12 August at Size?, priced £74.95.

Adidas Superstar Metal Toe

Falling somewhere between the brand’s iconic shell cap and heavy duty work boots, Adidas has given its Originals Superstar the metal toe treatment. The statement sneakers feature all the usual details – white leather uppers, three stripe branding and rubber outsole – but with a textured metallic tip in contrast black for a business in the back, party in the front finish. Available at Offspring, priced £110.

John Lobb Precious Leather Levah Sneaker

Whoever came up with the term ‘sports luxe’ clearly had John Lobb’s Levah sneaker in mind. The heritage firm, best known for its fine British dress shoes, started making casual lace-ups for the seriously well-heeled in 2015. In its first update, Lobb makes the original look like a throwaway pair of pumps. The Levah 2.0 is made from precious leathers in a range of rich colourways, complete with contrast binding on the tongue and a hand-stitched yellow sole, all for the cost of a small car (or several months’ rent). Available at John Lobb, 88 Jermyn Street, London, priced £3,100.

Le Coq Sportif Dynatec OG

Cooked up in 1982 by scientists in a Swiss lab who spent time studying the stride of joggers, Le Coq Sportif’s Dynatec model was once considered the most revolutionary trainer on the market. Making a return almost 35 years on, the reissue brings back the original lacing system that stretches nearly the whole length of the shoe, as well as the dual heel and arch stabilisers. Today the model is more likely to be celebrated for its retro appeal thanks to the OG colourways. Available at Hanon, priced £89.
