Geox x Patrick Cox Shoes: SS13 Collection The Geox x Patrick Cox partnership was established back in 2010, and for SS13 they have teamed up once again to produce a capsule collection of footwear. Patrick Cox is the Canadian born British designer who is best known for his cutting edge shoe designs. In the 1990s he was referred to as the ‘Ferragamo’ of the MTV generation, and with his effortlessly cool shoes he made everyone aware that shoe designers existed. The shoes in the Geox x Patrick Cox collection utilize the same patented technology that is present within each Geox shoe. At the heart of this is the invention of a micro porous membrane that is placed in the perforated rubber sole, which allows humidity to be evaporated – keeping water out and feet dry. The resulting shoes are both functional and stylish, meshing performance technology with fashion forward, contemporary design. The new SS13 collection includes four styles: three trainers and a desert boot. On trend camouflage is incorporated into two of the designs. The ‘CITY’ desert boot applies all over camo print to a suede upper, whilst the lace-up ‘NEWTON’ trainer has an olive green quilted body with a wrap around camo panel on the sole. The ‘NEWTON’ is also available in another on trend version that features a navy quilted upper and the colour of the season, orange, for accent detailing. The final and, in our opinion, most stylish silhouette is the ‘NEWTON’ hi-top, which is made from leather and suede and features a metallic ankle strap (metallic being another major trend for SS13). An altogether more grown up style, the timeless combination of white and grey ensures these trainers are versatile enough to be worn with both casual and smart-casual pieces, finishing off any sports luxe-inspired look perfectly.
