Mr Porter x Elton John AIDS Foundation Travel Accessories
Charity And E-Tailer Teams With Designers On Travel Collection
Elton John’s AIDS Foundation has partnered with five international designers to create a capsule collection of limited edition travel accessories. The range, available exclusively via menswear e-tailer Mr Porter, aims to raise funds for the charity, set up by the performer more than 20 years ago. It includes a cashmere travel blanket and eye-mask by New York-based Armand Diradourian, a one-off candle from product designer Tom Dixon Eclectic and a 21 inch carry-on suitcase manufactured by luxury brand Globe-Trotter. Other pieces comprise a pair of square-framed sunglasses from eyewear specialist Cutler & Gross and a travel set of products compiled by skincare brand Baxter of California. Each item features a navy and red colour-way along with the use of the charity’s logo. Mr Porter confirmed that all proceeds from sales are to be donated directly to the Foundation, which to date has raised over £193m. The online store’s buying director, Toby Bateman, said: “All designers involved have worked tirelessly to develop bespoke products that will resonate well with our global customers and we hope this initiative will help raise awareness and funds for the many projects this foundation supports.” David Furnish, chairman of the Foundation and Elton John’s civil partner since 2005, added: “Elton, myself and all at the Elton John AIDS Foundation pass our deepest thanks to the wonderful designers who contributed to this partnership, to Mr Porter, and to the customers who buy these gorgeous products.” The collection is scheduled to launch in November with prices ranging between £55 – £995.
