Dr. Martens Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection
Dr. Martens Autumn/Winter 2013
Throughout Dr. Martens’ history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by countless rebellious characters, subcultures and tribes. Dr. Martens wearers bring the shoes and boots to life, and this season, the brand feel they should be recognized. These are the people who stand out from the crowd in their own unique way and for many, their journey of self-expression has always been accompanied by a trusty pair of ‘Docs’.
Dr. Martens’ AW13 campaign celebrates these free-thinking individuals; from the first timers to those who have been with the brand forever. These are authentic characters that stand for something. Featuring a diverse cast of thirteen, the campaign represents people of different ages, backgrounds, occupations and personalities. They all have one thing in common – they wear Dr. Martens boots and shoes with pride and passion – an empowering mark of something worth standing for.
This ethos should resonate with the FashionBeans reader; we strive to develop a completely individual personal style and put our own unique stamp on every outfit we create, utilizing pieces that fully embody our character, personality and way of life. It’s not the clothes you wear – it’s how you wear them and what they represent to YOU.
With this in mind, today we bring you the Dr. Martens autumn/winter 2013 campaign and pick out the key pieces from the new collection.
Dr. Martens AW13: WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR?
Shot by James Pearson Howes, the people within the campaign vary greatly and include up-and-coming band The Minx, rapper Rude Kid, hair stylist Saph and artist Wildcat Will, to name but a few.
James captures each individual within their natural environment and habitat, using strong reportage style photography to give the campaign a down to earth and extremely personal feel.
