5. More Frequent Burping:

Avoid your baby feeding two hours before the bed time whether you bottle feed him or breastfeed to help in proper digestion. Helping your baby burp more often after the feeding sessions will help in the proper digestion and relieve the gastric pressure and thus preventing the acid reflux.

6. Changing The Position Of Infant:

It is suggested for babies to sleep on their backs to prevent problems for the babies. But this type of position can obstruct the air path for babies having the problem of acid reflux. So with the help and advice of your doctor put your baby to sleep on their side or stomach.

Place your baby with their stomach downwards and head turned to sideways so that their nose and mouth doesn’t get obstructed. Keep the head a little bit of elevated by keeping a small pillow or giving a little elevation under the head to let the effect of gravity work which will help to prevent the reverting back of contents from the stomach into the esophagus.

7. Try Gripe Water:

Gripe water is basically composed of peppermint, lemon, ginger, fennel and chamomile but other ingredients may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Gripe water has not been proved scientifically to get the babies relieved from the problem of acid reflux but you can try it once as it may cause solution to your problem. Before administering your baby anything before 6 months you should consult your medical expert as it is believed that giving anything other than breast milk to the baby before 6 months can cause infections in the baby. So talk to the pediatrician regarding the administration of anything if your baby is not 6 months yet. Avoid giving products which may contain sodium bicarbonate, sucrose, fructose, or alcohol as these ingredients may worsen the problem.
