Rémy Martin X Robin Thicke

French drinks producer Rémy Martin has re-released 100 limited edition bottles of its VSOP fine champagne cognac in a collaboration with chart topper Robin Thicke. The Blurred Lines singer has been the manufacturer’s US Creative Consultant for more than two years, working with the firm on private events and packaging design. VSOP, which stands for ‘Very Special Old Pale’, refers to the ageing grade given to French brandies including cognac from the wine-growing region of the country. To celebrate Thicke’s recent visit to Europe as part of Maroon 5’s tour, the special edition 750ml bottle has been brought back into production and will be available exclusively from Selfridges in London. It originally launched in America back in 2012, becoming an instant sell out. The bottle has received a makeover inspired by the artist’s sultry voice and soulful character. Coming in a bold red, it features Thicke’s autograph along with an old school microphone surrounded by musical notes, all in gold. With close to three centuries of experience, the brand claims to have mastered the art of cognac production. Continuing the heritage of her predecessors, Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet uses her skill to find the perfect harmony of a broad range of aromas and flavours. Rémy Martin released a film in October last year while the cognac was still in production. A short clip released shows Thicke visiting their headquarters, giving some insight into the work and production involved in making the product. The bottle, which the singer launched at a recent gig at London’s The O2, retails at £44.99.
