The Waldorf Astoria To Become the Tallest Residential Building in Miami
Miami is soon to be home to the tallest residential building south of Manhattan. Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami will be 1,049-foot tall and feature 360 condos and 205 hotel rooms and suites.
The creation of this eye-catching building comes as the demand for luxury accommodation has increased over the years. As Miami continues to become a must visit city for domestic and international tourists, the need for more high-end accommodation is on the rise.
Enter Hilton Worldwide, who are putting up a large stack of cash to help Waldorf Astoria make this hotel/apartment building a reality.
The unique nine-stacked cube design is courtesy of architect Carlos Ott, who also designed the Opera Bastille in Paris. The futuristic building will contain hotel rooms on the first three cubes, with the condos in the cubes above.
The luxurious complex will include the Peacock Alley lounge, a signature restaurant, a spa and fitness center, indoor and outdoor event spaces, and a resort-style pool deck with cabanas.
Residents and hotel guests will have unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay from their modern abodes. Every room features floor-to-ceiling glass windows and contemporary furnishings from California-based firm BAMO. It’s also believed smart-home technology will be included with each apartment.
As you can imagine from a project of this scale, apartments aren’t cheap, with junior suites starting from $700,000 USD and single bedrooms from $1 million USD. There are even four-bedroom condos priced from a staggering $4.9 million USD.
