Turkish also known as the Istanbul Turkish or Turkey Turkish is the most spoken language of all the Turkic Languages with at least 80 million speakers. It is the national language of Turkey. Outside of its native country, it is spoken in places such as Iraq, Syria, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Northern Cyprus, Greece, the Caucasus, and other parts of Europe and Central Asia. Cyprus has actually requested the European Union to add this language as one of the official language even though Turkey is not itself a member state.

Classical Turkish was written with eth Arabic alphabets from the 10th century to the beginning of the 20th century. However, it was then changed to the Latin alphabet by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It was justified as making it easier for others to learn this language and increase the literacy rate. Naturally, the increase in other kinds so activities was noticeable too. The education rate certainly improved considerably after the improvement, from around 20% to over 90%. Nonetheless, some say that the progress was also to remove the country from the Ottoman Empire, whose records can no longer be interpreted except by rare scholars.

The changes can also be seen in other parts of the language usage especially in tattoos where people from all over the world are using Turkish words to create their own foreign language tattoos.
