Let’s talk a little bit of history behind The 1975. Matthew “Matty” Healy met his bandmates Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann and George Daniel in high school in 2002. The guys started out playing local shows organized by local council workers, to arenas this days. They have been playing music together since they were about 15 years old which shows how tight the group is over 15 years later.

Before becoming The 1975, the band had other names including; Talkhouse, the Slowdown, Bigsleep, Me and You Versus Them, Drive Like I Do and Forever Drawing Six.

The first EP release by The 1975 was called Facedown. “The City” was the bands’ lead track that hit the UK airwaves in 2012. The next single to make UK airplay was their single, “Sex”, which was released during the same year.

In 2016, they released their second album. The album, I like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of it, premiered, “Love Me” as the first single of the album. The album had many hits like; “The Sound”, “Somebody Else” and “UGH”. The album was commercially successful by making it to the top of the UK Albums charts and cracking the US Billboard 200.
