Paul Smith Accessories Black Chrome Stone Set Fly Cufflinks
Paul Smith Accessories Black Chrome Stone Set Fly Cufflinks
An unconventional touch for any style conscious gent’s shirtsleeves, Paul Smith’s fly cufflinks typify the iconic brand’s quirky British elegance. Crafted from fine brass and enamel, these eye-catching accessories have been set with an artful arrangement of skilfully-cut black stones. For a label that has become an internationally respected name synonymous with luxury and sophistication, Smith himself had a rather accidental beginning in the fashion industry. Born in Nottinghamshire in 1946, the young Smith became a keen cyclist in his formative years with designs on pursuing the sport professionally. After a serious road accident, Smith had to abandon his dream and became absorbed by his work in a local clothing warehouse, where his father had insisted he take a job. Smith began to take tailoring classes to learn the basics on the trade, before landing a coveted position at the Savile Row house of Lincroft Kilgour, having been scouted by chairman Harold Tillman. Success at the house followed, with his creations being worn by some of the most high-profile figures in the public eye. Smith opened his first shop in Nottingham in 1970, and just six years later was showing his own-label designs in Paris. The past three decades have seen the brand expand to include several diffusion labels as well as the mainline, with critical acclaim and recognition from the international fashion community. Undoubtedly, it is Smith’s sartorial recipe of quintessential English polish, fused with a dash of eccentric charm that has led to the label’s assured appeal from London to Tokyo.
