Lyle & Scott Clothing: SS14 Collection

Lyle & Scott Celebrates 140th Anniversary

Lyle & Scott is celebrating 140 years in British fashion with two new spring/summer 2014 collections. The heritage label has released the 140 and 1960 lines to mark the achievement.

Inspired by some of the brand’s most iconic and innovative designs, the British-made pieces commemorate the firm’s strong manufacturing roots and its growth within the golfing industry.

The Lyle & Scott 140 collection is an 11-piece capsule range, which introduces a subtle tartan-led colour palette to the company’s signature polo shirts and knitwear.

Featuring the original L&S Ltd. logo, the archive designs acknowledge the success of the firm since its initial formation in 1874.

Observing another key development in the brand’s growth, the 26-piece 1960 collection pays tribute to the company’s first golfing range and the launch of its iconic golden eagle moniker.

Using the well-recognised Lyle & Scott sporting aesthetic, now under the direction of Carolyn Massey, the line features traditional knitwear pieces in a range of strong golfing colours as well as the famous Argyle diamond pattern.

It has been confirmed that while the 140 range will only be available this year, with a further 140 pieces to be released for AW14, the 1960 line will become an established part of the brand, sitting alongside the classic, contemporary and golf collections.

The 140 and 1960 collections are available to buy in the company’s flagship London store and other select retailers. Pieces range from £65 to £125 and can also be bought online at lyleandscott.com/140 and lyleandscott.com/1960.
