Take a Tour of Leonardo DiCaprio's $7.1 Million L.A. Mansion
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has added another property to his burgeoning portfolio. The Academy Award-winning actor already has a home in the Hollywood Hills, but it’s believed this new purchase is for his mother, Irmelin Indenbirken.
This isn’t the first time DiCaprio has gifted his parents with a home, with the Hollywood playboy splashing out $4.9 million on Moby’s former L.A. pad for his father in 2018. DiCaprio paid $7.1 million for this Spanish-influenced villa in the affluent area of Los Feliz.

DiCaprio bought the house from Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita. Built in 1928, the luxurious abode has been home to a number of celebrity owners over the years. Gwen Stefani acquired the house for $1.3 million in 1998 and added a swimming pool before offloading the home for $4.8 million to Hollywood producer Mark Brazill (That ’70s Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun). He then sold it to snack food entrepreneur Lara Merriken, owner of the Lärabar energy bar company, before Merriken moved in during 2013.
Hidden from prying eyes by a large fence, entry is through a gate with a long driveway leading to the entrance of the four-bedroom mansion. The home’s original hand-carved front door is still intact and terracotta tiled floors and stonewalls run throughout the home. The decor is a mix of retro styles with modern flourishes.
The 5,000 square foot home features a living room with a stone fireplace, a dining room with blue wallpaper and a hand-stenciled ceiling, and a library that occupies two floors and provides a great area to relax with a book. Other notable rooms include the chef’s kitchen with its white walls and Wolf and SubZero stainless appliances, another living room that converts to a media room with a film screen and protector, and a master bedroom with a retro look.
